MSNBC has fallen to the fascists like the rest of mainstream media. Overjoyed that Joy is here on Substack! Democrats need to elevate more women of color to save our democracy and lead us to a progressive future:

Nither have I. The MSNBC cowards caved in to DJT. (Can’t bring myself to speak his name)

Giving in to the thugs is shameful. I lost respect for MSNBC when they fired Joy.

We have to reclaim who we are, and turn the noise off. When we are unapologetic in our blackness, we Rise. We cannot continue to cater to people who will always mischaracterize, misinform and who will never evolve. All of today's events have prepared us for such a moment as this.

I could not agree more.. We need to organize and we need to rise. I’m ready, I’m a full-time mom and I am ready to make resistance my full-time job.

Spot on the truth! Obama is no comparison to Trump. Trump can’t even hope to be a fraction of what Obama did is. But he sure is trying…

I just wanted to tell you Joy, I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know. I’ve watched you speak truth to power over the last 10 years over and over again, seen you shine light where there had been none before, and nobody can say you haven’t made a difference. You have.. You don’t look like every other face on TV and there is so much value in that, and what you bring to the table is the perspective of a strong black woman who grew up in white America, you KNOW an America that many in this nation would like to pretend doesn’t exist, you are the voice for so many who are voiceless. I am a white woman, and you have been my voice. I think that you are so incredibly valuable, your thoughtfulness, kindness and empathy show through in every story that you cover.

You matter to me and so many other Americans, and seeing you cry broke me. I will not spend one moment of my time watching MSNBC as they whitewash their lineup in real time. The voices on our television should absolutely represent the people watching them, you did that.. You spoke for so many of us, you educated so many of us, you have never compromised your values to make some corporate boss somewhere happy, I have so much respect for you and your struggle to be a voice of reason in these incredibly unreasonable times. The day that MSNBC fired you, Joy, was a sad day in America. I can’t wait to see what you do with your career, but either way I know you’re not going anywhere and you’ll still be in this fight.
