A No Kings Day Reid: American fascism ... American resistance
The thing we feared the most is here, right now. But Americans are not done yet.
Los Angeles is under military occupation, for reason other than to make that city an example to the rest of us. A federal judge tried to stop it, but it’s still going on while the regime’s appeal plays out. The regime is lying about that city in order to get Americans used to seeing military troops in our streets. They want to normalize fascism.

Regime police detained a United States Senator for daring to ask a question, after the “Homeland Security Director” declared that the military occupation of Los Angeles would not end until the “socialist” leaders of that city and the state were removed. It’s giving Putin vs Ukraine.
United States Marines have joined the occupation of Los Angeles, and they have already begun detaining veterans.

This after Donald Trump gave a fully partisan speech at at Fort Bragg, where he sold merch, and vetted the troops who would appear with him for ideological purity and appearance. He wanted to make sure they would hoot and cheer when he too announced the coming “liberation” of Los Angeles.
We have crossed all the way over from wretched, cowardly Republican politics to straight up fascism … complete with a full on North Korea style military parade today. Here were the rehearsals … and the reference clips…
One wonders if the 7,000 troops who will goose step for Trump in the nation’s capitol have been vetted for ideological purity and appearance.
And Kim Jong Don has of course threatened what sure sounds like a violent response against anyone who protests his cherished military birthday gift to himself.
And he’s not alone. Listen to this rather stereotypical southern sheriff, from Florida (of course) also threatening protesters:
In sharp contrast to this Washington State police chief:
A helpful reminder that there are both good and bad law enforcement officers and leaders.
Despite the threats, the resistance will be fully represented today, in No Kings Day protests all over the country … in Ontario, and even, ironically, in the UK) … Here’s the AP’s live coverage:
The one place that may have fewer protests may be Minnesota, where a pair of political assassinations targeting Democratic lawmakers have changed the nature of the day. The gunman, who is still at large, apparently had a stack of “No Kings Day” posters in his car — which was kitted out to look like a police car — indicating he may well be targeting the protests for further violence. Here was Gov. Tim Walz earlier today:
Deepest condolences to the families of those two lawmakers. And God help us all.
I haven’t even gotten to the whole “Israel launches World War III” part of our current living hell …
Keep your heads on a swivel out there today if you’re out and about and/or protesting, fam.
And if you’re staying home today, I’ll be co-hosting live coverage of the No Kings Day protesrs around the country, with
