We’re losing our democracy both black and white so we must stick together to stop this loss. Color matters to Trump’s racist regime but not to us. What matters is saving democracy where everyone counts and the best way we can do that is learn how we lost it.

Fascists started by taking over our schools about forty years ago. We’ve ignored the teacher whistleblowers who have been speaking out at WhiteChalkCrime.com and EndTeacherAbuse.org. Teachers have been dealing with ruthless leaders and complicit unions for decades now; because our leaders ignored this, now all of us are miserable.

Abraham Lincoln had warned, "The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next."

It is.

We can win over voters by doing something about our corrupt schools. Democrats must wake up and run on a promise of authentic schools. Teachers were to be democracy’s gatekeepers. Fascists made sure they stopped doing their job so no one would respect them. That’s why democracy lovers have to give power back to our gatekeepers. They have to listen to teacher whistleblowers!

A nation with corrupt schools will fail all its people - black and white. Those of us who believe in democracy must learn how our schools did this to us and get on school boards on a democracy platform.

Read my memoir of my teaching days, A Graver Danger, so you’ll know exactly how they did this to us and how we can get our democracy back

I, too, have worked in education for a good portion of my life ... amongst many other vocations. This problem that you speak of, Karen, is MUCH OLDER than decades. I've given literally hundreds of lectures on how our current curriculum is a byproduct of the industrial revolution and the American Civil War. Our educational system was corrupt from the very start.

... Most people that I've shared this with think that I'm anti-education. No. That's patently untrue. My message is that we need to study and learn the right things for the right reasons. Abstract thought processes - Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic - need to be folded into everyday life, contextually, culturally, and within the context of vocations. I'd always tell kids that, when a teacher tells you to read a book, pick up, read, and study 10 more on the same topic. But most of us are lazy. We want someone else to give us the answers to what we need to know. Not what we want to know, but what we NEED to know. In allowing the government through schools to dictate curriculum, most of us have unwittingly ceded our worth, our creativity, our innate cognitive abilities, and thereby, our power to corporations and industrialists. America evolved from chattel slavery to wage slavery.

Wage slavery has no gender, racial, ethnic or religious boundaries. All that we're taught is to serve the 1% via the industrial, corporate, political, and educational complexes. ... Think about it. The 1% determines what wealth is, what success is, what genius is, what celebrity is, what beauty is, what "normalcy" is, ad infinitum; and all within the context of our ability or inability to think abstractly in terms of machines and processes instead of practically and in the interest of serving humanity and our environment. The indoctrination officially begins in preschool.

... The dismantling of the American Education system by tRump and his overlords is wrong. It's wrong, not because the system doesn't need a complete overhaul, but because he's doing it to, once again, evolve slavery. I agree with you. Race, religion, even gender are tools the 1% uses to divide and conquer and enslave us. We need to work together, but too many can't see beyond the cradle-to-the-grave programming. They're ramping up to include AI in their matrix just as the industrialists did when factories replaced the trade guilds. But, as Mary Baker Eddy wrote circa 1877 and I often quote, "The only power evil has is to destroy itself." The 1% learned absolutely NOTHING from the Civil War. Karma is real and "There is no discount in the laws of Divine justice." Another one of Mrs. Eddy's quotes. And I firmly believe that tRump + minions, in their greed and debauchery, are slapping the shit out of us, waking many of us up. 'bout time!!! We've been sleepwalking for too long! Time to get Woke!

I love your thoughtfulness. I don’t disagree. But the past forty years added a new dimension and totally erased good teaching and good teachers and left us vulnerable. I’d love if you read my book, A Graver Danger, and then shared your thoughts. I’ll send you a free pdf if you contact me via one of my websites WhiteChalkCrime.com or EndTeacherAbuse.org.

Great writing ! Another puzzle put together Joy. History really comes through people from every background have had challenges with their own. Especially the contrast with the Irish in Ireland. That was really good. In America so many have also bought there hate through their linage so many even today have been mistreated physically and blocked by certain groups from getting the job or redlined in real estate. Everybody has to come together so Fascism doesn't rule and Democracy and Humanity can reign

Do you have a link to this last video? It doesn't link to YouTube or any other source that I can click on, and I want to share it. How anyone can see this sweet boy begging with his little praying hands and still support this shit is incomprehensible. How do these "men" sleep at night? I hope this boy's cries haunt them for the rest of their lives. Please share the link so we can share it. More people need to see this.

Hmmm. This seems so familar somehow. Like wasn't there a poem by someone that described this very same phenomenon? First they came for the fruit pickers just trying to feed their families or some such?
