Otherwise too many people won't support it and we'll get a familiar and harmful backlash. They will remember the Haitian refugees that overwhelmed the border when Biden took office.
I think we should lay off everyone hired after January 2025 because they were poorly screened and poorly trained and there are too many of them. Let anyone not legitimately shown to be dangerous out of detention and shut down private detention centers, especially if they have human rights violations. Investigate ICE and CBP crimes. Hire more immigration judges so people will have their status resolved quickly. Fire ICE and CBP leadership because of what they have encouraged or allowed that goes against rights and the law. Give immigrants, especially vets and people who have suffered abuse at the hands of ICE and CBP, access to mental health services. Reform policies and procedures and make sure we have adequate oversight.
By the time we're through, we should not have anything that looks like the ICE of 2025-2026, regardless of the name of the agency.
Black people and other freedom fighters did this in the 60's its called the Civil Rights Movement. However, during Black Lives Matter where was the privilege helping us?
