When former South African ambassador to the u.s., Embrahim Rasool was expelled from the U.S. in March, and declared “persona non grata” by the Trump regime, it was a lynchpin moment in a bilateral relationship that had already been battered by Trump’s executive order a month earlier, that cut off all foreign aid to South Africa and called for white South African descendants of Dutch colonizers … known as Afrikaners … to be treated as refugees from a supposed “white genocide” … and allowed to quickly relocate to the U.S. This while the regime bans nearly every other class of actual refugees, including those from war-torn and impoverished countries, from coming to America, while violently removing others with the help of military-style ICE raids.
