(It’s like the Harvey Weinstein saga that went on for decades because the victims were too frightened to speak up only in this case we have thousands of predatory administrators who force us to commit acts that harm children and democracy rather than sexual acts and they decimate every teacher who tries to report this.)

The place that used to teach democracy stopped teaching it years ago. The lack of critical thinking due to this is also why so many people voted for Trump thinking he could fix things. Thinking we can ignore called-to-teach teachers has been our downfall.
And people don’t get that right now we could get on school boards and force democracy on our schools. We can plant the flag of democracy in the institution that was to uphold democracy. Just after he was inaugurated, within a day or 2, if my memory serves me right, tRump pointedly said when asked, "Yes, we're going to war." Obviously either no one believed him or they weren't paying attention. Me? I've predicted WWIII since November 2024. And make no mistake. We're at war, news media optics, chest thumping, and any lies to the contrary be damned!
Many years ago, I sat at a luncheon with about 30 Egyptian men. It was a potluck organized in honor of my visiting their neck of the woods. The men came from every ladder of society - rich, "middle class," military brass including senior officers, politicians, etc. Me being a woman of color, they talked over me. To be polite, they spoke in English. With bravado, they were talking of the imminent defeat of Israel (they were at war with Israel at the time). I couldn't help it. I felt I shouldn't. "Don't do it!" I silently screamed at myself. I did it.
"You will never defeat Israel as long as it is supported by the western world," I said to them. The shock and horror! It was priceless.
"What does a woman know of such things?!" and "We have Allah on our side!" reverberated from one end of the big beautiful banquet spread to the other. I very calmly said, "I'm an educated American woman and you will never defeat Israel if you fight alone. The only way you're going to win is through a united Arab front. A holy Jihad of the entire Arab world. If you can overcome your petty differences, you will be unstoppable. Historically, when you were united you marched across and conquered the Middle East, most of Africa, and a good chunk of Europe, only to be stopped in France. Only a holy war will enable you to win." Stunned silence. Not one of them contradicted me. ... That was many, many years ago. It still holds true today. A holy Jihad! And tRump is making it happen. He lit the fuse when he attacked Iran.
