Excellent summary of our current horror show. I would like to point out that permanent tax law changes are only permanent until they aren't. That will take Democrats gaining control of the WH, the House and the Senate and then changing these tax laws. This brings me to another point. Why do corporations and businesses need so many tax credits and deductions? Isn't this socialism? Why can't they pull themselves up with their boot straps without help from the government?

It's all so horrible, but this is how voting against your own interest ends. I feel lost and abandoned by the people who always proclaimed that "America is the greatest country on the planet". Being in the sunset of my life, having worked my entire life to ensure a little rest and peace in my sunset yrs, I find myself, sad, frustrated and not knowing if I will be able to leave this place with an ounce of dignity. I can say this with my full chest and absolutely no remorse, America ain't what it used to be.

Why would so-called intelligent (?) people vote for a person who lies constantly. Are they so delusional that they thought he would stand by what he said. These cubans have created an anti-Democratic stance long before the felon bought the presidency. Why is he not going after all the privileged wealthy ie. the one Gibb brother remaining. He was not born her neither were the Estefans. They probably bent the knee for more tax breaks. They deserve no sympathy and deserve to go to the swaps. They have created this hell - now pay for it.

It is a horror show that half of this country obviously wanted. Does it mean that that half are rascist? Does that that that half don't like poor and disadvantaged people? Does that mean that that half are greedy? Does that mean that that half are not supportive of women? I know they cannot be christian because those ideas are not any ideas that Jesus had.

Great article Joy. Our country needs to take a break from the political circus that is happening in DC.

We no longer have public servants who serve the people.

We have a lot of spineless politicians especially in the Republican Party who allow this demigod to corrupt and control their decisions.

The only way we can stop this madness from destroying our democracy is for the people to rise up and fight.

Stop being passive with your representatives. Demand that they do their jobs.

Stop donating to their campaigns!!!

Boycott the billionaires and corporations businesses.

The unions should unite together and begin a campaign to fight with work stoppages.

Screw the media for its own agenda to promote racism against the Black And Brown Communities!!!

Wake up people and fight!!!

My hope is that the BBB will be the last straw for several House Republicans.

Many know that their careers are likely doomed if they stay the course and try to get reelected on only Trump’s stale talking points.

My Optimist’s Manifesto, offered below, shows how and why House Republicans should declare themselves independents, members of a new #ConstitutionalConservativeCaucus, that now choose to caucus with Democrats.

Get a half dozen interested, and ensure that they won’t face Democratic Party-supported opposition in 2026 and you might get them seeing that the time and idea is right. And a committee chair post in a blue House might be a great thank you gift...

Please read on through this link to my Substack page. Your thoughts are encouraged.

Dems. Repugs. Independents. NOPE. We need a whole 'nother party that is divorced from the current ones. A party more in touch with the people and has a fresher take on how to move this country and the world forward in more healing and constructive ways. AOC and Bernie are on the right track, I think; but, even their ideas are rooted in America's worst traditions and behaviors. Build back better with the planet's well-being as our first priority ... and meeting that priority means being inclusive of EVERYONE and meeting the basic needs of each and every person throughout the entire world. Pipe dream? Bullshit! If we can send ships to the moon and Mars, we can accomplish this paltry obligation.
