A Daily Reid: Daddy and Daddy are fighting (we think)
Donald Trump and Elon Musk, America's two deadbeat dads, appear to be at war. At least that's what the mainstream media and the maga hoarde are telling us ...
Welp … six months in, and the twin demons of our maga oligarchy are fighting … we think.
Frankly, it’s hard to know who to side with when they’re both just so … you know what? I’m going with neither…
I mean if Kan(Ye) is jumping in trying to bring his gross pals together … I’m treating it like a Diddy party and staying way out.
Believe it … or not?
I have to admit that I don’t 100 percent buy the “Trump and Musk are fighting” bit. To me, Elon benefits so thoroughly from Trump and Republicans’ agenda, it makes no sense for them to fall out. The Elon-friendly goodies in the stupidly named “Big Beautiful Bill” — which sounds so childish I can’t believe grown men utter the phrase on television — are legion, starting with that massive, permanent, $4 trillion tax cut that mainly benefits people in Elon’s pay-little-or-no tax bracket. And that’s just the start.
There’s also this nasty work: a fancy little provision that bars states and localities from enforcing artificial intelligence laws for a decade including when it comes to their use in political campaigns and elections — a provision so vile, and so blatantly meant to bend the knee to the tech broligarchs (who also are receiving a gargantuan tax cut in the bill) … that it has lost even Matjory Greene’s support (not that she read it in advance, because … you know … she’s an idiot.) The provision would massively benefit Elon’s xAI, as it merrily pollutes places like Memphis, Tennessee.
Watch my interview with Tennessee State Rep Justin J. Pearson here.
All of this on top of the fact that Elon has already had his federal investigations wiped, and (for now) his massive federal contracts renewed. Just out of self-interest, it doesn’t make sense for Elon to oppose a bill that also lets him play Roman emperor and enjoy watching poor people scrape the bottom of the barrel via the massive Medicaid cuts in the bill, as well as nonwhite immigrants get boot-kicked on live video feeds while white immigrants like him sit pretty and his Afrikaaner friends chill in red state hotels. Yet, oppose it he claims to do.
Why? Apparently because it apparently doesn’t slash federal services enough for his liking, even though, as I’ve said before … IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HIS AND DOGE’S JOB TO FIND $2 TRILLION IN CUTS … which I could have told them they couldn’t do, without essentially ending Medicaid … which they’re certainly attempting. But you know … pretend budget hawks gonna pretend budget hawk …
So if he’s getting so many goodies, does Elon really even oppose the Big Ugly Bill??? Trump’s Lickspittle Speaker Mike Johnson seemed to raise questions about that during an otherwise grossly sycophantic news conference with fellow Republicans this week…
“We were texting one another ‘happy texts’ on Monday and then 24 hours later he does a 180 and it surprised me, frankly…”
So he did a 180, after telling Johnson they needed to keep going, pass the bill and hold onto their majorities in the House and Senate. Why??? Here’s Donald Trump agreeing that Elon knew exactly what was in the bill when he backed it:
Elon’s “make my day” approach, including threatening to unleash secret information on Trump in the Epstein files is juicy media candy. And if you know anything about Donald Trump, you know that no relationship with him survives for long. His ego will not allow for the presence of equals, let alone someone to whom he owes a debt as big as the one he owes Musk.
And yet…
Option one: full on fake news
Part of me genuinely believes that “the feud” could be fake news — or that at minimum, it has at least something to do with Elon’s need to get on the right side of the maga base, some of whom are literally freaking out over some of the more obvious anti-liberty elements of what the regime is up to.
Musk seems to desperately want to be popular with the cool kids again — if for no other reason than to save Tesla from its current path toward utter economic destruction, given that in his pro-Trump, pro-Nazi curious European political parties era, he is utterly hated in the U.S. and around the world, and Tesla is paying the price. There’s a world in which getting to Trump’s left on this bill allows him to draft on Trump’s own unpopularity and maybe shore up domestic and international Tesla sales (though I doubt this will work. People really, really hate Elon.) Claiming to oppose a bill that will throw millions of Americans into the streets with no healthcare could be his Hail Mary attempt to get his Tesla buyers market back. So again, part of me views this whole fight thing as theater. Because — and this is important — he actually supports the “throwing poor people into the streets” part and he’s still gonna get all the goodies in the Republican budget.

Option two: a white South African power grab?
It could also be that Elon opposes the bill because he realizes that it could flip the balance of power between him and Donald, who would, if the bill passes, be not just our king, but also his.
The Trump budget bill, which reads like it was written by Margaret Atwood, or at minimum by the folks who wrote Project 2025 (let’s face it — it probably was…) blatantly throws open the door to Trump ruling this country like a king.
Its provision 70302 makes his whims unreviewable by any court. That may sit well with the hardcore magas, who think the real purpose of the court system is to rubber stamp whatever it is their earthly god, Donald Trump, desires. (Well that and to prosecute anyone he doesn’t like. … because they’re a cult.)
More on how bad that provision is, here.
And then there’s the fact that even beyond this bill, Donald Trump has secretly handed another white South African: JD Vance’s former and perhaps current boss, Peter Thiel, the keys to the proverbial kingdom and with it, the power to become the ultimate deep state:
The Trump administration has reportedly been discreetly working with Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) to gather personal data of American citizens from various federal agencies, sparking concerns over privacy and potential misuse of personal data.
What Happened: President Trump’s March executive order for federal data sharing is being implemented through Palantir’s product, Foundry. Although Trump has not publicly discussed this initiative, this platform is already in use by several federal agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services as well as the Social Security Administration, reported The New York Times on Friday.
Foundry’s capabilities in data organization and analysis could potentially enable the merging of information from various agencies, thereby creating detailed profiles of American citizens. The Trump administration has attempted to access extensive citizen data from government databases, including bank details, student debt, medical claims, and disability status.
Palantir did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comment.
Palantir’s selection as a primary vendor for this project was reportedly influenced by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was being overseen by Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO, Elon Musk.
Critics, including Democratic lawmakers and privacy advocates, fear that such data could be exploited for political purposes, such as policing immigrants and targeting critics.
Some Palantir employees fear the company’s association with Trump’s agenda and potential data breaches, prompting 13 former staffers to sign a letter urging it to cut ties with the administration.
Why It Matters: The Trump administration’s collaboration with Palantir comes on the heels of several significant developments for the company. In late May, the Department of Defense (DoD) awarded Palantir a $795 million modification to a contract for its Maven Smart System software licenses, which likely contributed to a surge in the company’s stock price.
Earlier that month, Palantir announced a strategic partnership with enterprise software giant SAP SE (NYSE:SAP), integrating its data platforms with SAP’s enterprise solutions, a move that CEO Alex Karp described as “extremely valuable.”
So the white South Africans have essentially been collabbing in creating their own deep state, and now one of them is supposedly feuding with the man purportedly to be placed at the had of that state, maybe for life? And yet here’s Musk’s latest bromide from his wholly owned social media company (the two are literally dueling from social media companies they own…)
Lucky us.
Maga no happy
Well the emergence of this latest version of the deep state is displeasing some of the most prominent maga profiteers, particularly given the fact that a national database would also likely include a full accounting of who’s got guns, and where. And you know we can’t have that… Some anti-Elon magas are taking it to the hilt, with white nationalist capitano Steve Bannon urging Trump to immediately launch and investigation and deport his rival, accusing him of being an “illegal alien.” Which in fairness, Elon’s brother has previously said is true (…though Elon denies it.)
It’s getting so bad, self-described white nationalist mini Tucker clone Nick Fuentes has jumped into the fray against Thiel and JD Vance…
Oh my god, do I agree with NICK FREAKING FUENTES about PETER THIEL???
So why is are maga flipping out? Because they realize that this tech might not only be used to suppress the brown, gay, trans and Black people they hate:
Numerous pro-Trump voices expressed dismay and feelings of betrayal across social media platforms like X.
"People are so quick to suggest that I flipped on Trump...No, no, no...I didn't flip on Trump. TRUMP FLIPPED ON US. I'm just not willing to continue living in a LIE, and I will tell you the unfortunate TRUTH about it," The Patriot Voice wrote on X to his 158,000 followers.
he Hodgetwins, popular conservatives and Trump supporters, have more than 3.3 million followers on X. In response to The New York Times report, they wrote on May 30, "Hope this ain't true y'all."
Another post that same day reads: "Don't know if this is true but I did not vote for this."
Nick Fuentes, a far-right Trump supporter described as an "America First" white nationalist, called the association between the Trump administration and Palantir "the ultimate betrayal of his own people."
"Feeding every 'MAGA extremist' into an AI database controlled by a CIA/Mossad cutout," Fuentes said on X, where he has roughly 561,000 followers. "Seriously, if Palantir isn't the deep state, then what is?"
In a video recorded by Fuentes, who also has a Rumble channel viewed over 31 million times, he said the following: "They are tracking everybody that criticized Israel, everybody that interacts with somebody that's criticizing Israel, and whether you're on a visa or not, whether you're a citizen or not, whether you're brown or not, Christian or Muslim, they're putting you in the Palantir database. They're putting you on the enemies list. If you don't see a problem with that..."
"I'm beginning to think it started when DJT walked down that escalator, before 2016," wrote an X user with the moniker "Redneck Common Sense."
X user Jack Maxey wondered: "Was MAGA a giant psyop?"
Would you maga like me to answer that, or are you good?

I certainly don't understand the feud but I doubt that Trump would be able to participate in a fake feud; he doesn't have the intellectual capacity. But, as others have said about the King Kong and Godzilla movie, let them fight.
Thanks, Joy. I wrote earlier today that everyone's believing that this is a breakup between Musk and tRump. It may be. But, this is where everyone gets their hopes up only to have them dashed on the Senate floor when Repuglicans approve the fucking One Big Bullshit Bill. Let's not get roped in so easily this time. Pray for the best and expect the worst, esp. when we're talking about Donald vs. Musk. ... Deception. Trojan Horse. Deflection. Lies. Subterfuge. This is their M.O. I hope they truly are feuding, but let's wait and see.
